  Avid to After effects import

  I am having problems importing my timeline from avid into After effects, where its saying it cannot source footage.

  My footage is XDCAM EX and I exported this from sony clip browser to avid as Avid AAF files.
  I then exported my avid timeline from avid as a linked AAF file to import into after effects via automatic duck, but it says it cant find the media.

  Anyone experienced this problem before?

  If you’re experiencing what I think you are, it’s one of those AVID gotchas that leaves you shaking your head. Your AE install has to be on the same machine that the AVID is on, with access to the same AVID media drives, or it won’t work.

  I went through the whole process of saving the timeline and copying the footage to my AE box, and I never got it to work. One thing you might try is to make sure that the file folder structure on your other machine (if this is how you’re trying to do it) is exactly the same as the one on your AVID. That said, it never worked for me; one of the many reasons I’m now working with other NLEs.
