Hi, Sorry if I’m repeating posts here, but I couldn’t find one relating to this camera.

I am looking to buy a new camera for my small production company. I was tending towards the Sony EX3 which I’m pretty familiar with and always been a fan of. However I am really tempted by the new JVC GY-HM750 in the main because of the CCD chips (I do a lot of fashion show work and the camera flashes cause CMOS issues), but also because of its cheap / double redundancy recording and nice (canon) lens.

Basically I’m after an events workhorse rather than a pretty image (I have a 5D mkii for the more cinematic work/DOF).

I’m sure the EX3 has the better image but I’m really tempted by the 750’s features, though I have to say that I’ve never owned a JVC so am a little tentative.

    Any advice appreciated!

If you can deal with the weaker low-light performance of the 1/3″ sensors, then the camera should serve you well.

Yeah I tend to work in situations where I have good control of the lighting.

    Thanks for the advice.
