I have recently upgraded my Avid Express pro with Avid media composer. I am using my JVC GY-HD100 camera to capture the footage. Using the camera on Standard def it works fine. However when I try to capture footage in HDV, the computer tells me there is a communication error. Any info would be great.

The easiest way I have found it use a free utility called HDV Split.
    You can get it here
    https://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm

Then import the file it creates from the camera.
I use Avid Media Composer Adrenaline 2.8 with this and it works,
plus you can convert the footage to Avid DNxHD codec.
    Hope that helps

    Cheers
