If I am trying to reset the time code with Wave Agent, how do I know my audio frame rate?
I’m doing some audio editing for a podcast. I want to take one file and reset its time code to start at zero. When I try to use Wave Agent to do this, it asks me for the frame rate of my audio. I’m not trying to sync it with video (although I’m doing the first stage of editing in FCP X). This being the case, should I care what I give for a frame rate? It doesn’t seem like my audio naturally has one. Thoughts?

Most likely it’s either 16 or 24bit @ 48frames per second.

The sample rate and bitdepth have nothing to do with frame rate. 48 fps is a frame rate for special fx slomo shots for movies in the 35 mm era, so why bring it up? It makes no sense at all.
Frame rate in BWF is just a piece of metadata to tell other software how to do the calculation between SAM (samples after midnight, as time is desribred in a BWF file)
The actual value is of no meaning at all if it is not honoured by the player.In case of setting the timestamp to 00:00:00:00, the value of the SAM wil be 0, as zero samples have passed since midnight.
And that will be the case in all frame rates.
Setting the value will only aid the time display in the player software, and only if there is a drop frame TC display.Bouke

Changing the display is all I want to do. So, am I right in thinking that, unless I want to sync something to tape, the frame rate I select from the dropdown menu in Wave Agent makes no difference?
