  • Outdoor wind protection for Audix scx1?

Hello. I am trying to find some wind protection for small microphones like the Audix scx1 and AKG Blueline mics. I have run across the Rode WS8 Deluxe Windshield and the Rycote Baby Ball Gag. Does anyone have other suggestions?

    Thank you.

The Rycote BBG is your best choice. I’ve used them for years on my Sennheiser MKH 50’s. Be sure to get it with the furry wind cover for very high winds and in the right diameter for your mic. 18-20mm opening should be perfect. You’ll never have to take it off the mic indoors or out.

Hi Eric. I went ahead and got the BBG and fury. I am going to get a FXLR to MXLR extender for the SCX1, so it can extend well into the BBG from the shock mount.

    Thanks.
