  • ZOOM H5 with RODE Lavalier and MICON5 connector… it doesn’t work

    Hello guys,

I recently bought a RODE Lavalier mic with MICON5 connector.

I want to connect it to my ZOOM H5 through the XLR input… however it doesn’t work.

My Sennheiser MD46 (also XLR) mic works perfect with the ZOOM though so the ZOOM is not broken.

The shop replaced the MICON5 connector so that should also be fine.

Could it be that I am doing something wrong with the phantom power settings on the ZOOM? Or is the RODE Lavalier just broken?

    Any help is Welcome!

    Best Regards
    Didier

Hello Didier and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

Have you engaged the phantom power supply on the Zoom H5?

The Sennheiser MD46 is a dynamic mic and does not require phantom power.
