Recording dialogue in a moving car
I’m going to be producing a web show similar to Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, and was wondering what is the best way to capture dialogue in this situation.
Elements: Moving car. Three people talking.
Also, I am on small budget: Here is what I have and what I was thinking of buying:
What I own:
Camera: Panasonic GH-1 (2 cameras)
Audio – Tascam DR-05 hand held 2 track recorder
Microphones: Audio Technica ATR-3350 Wired lavalier (1)
Nady Wireless Lavalier (One channel)So, I was thinking of buying another hand held recorder like the Zoom H4N for example to be able to capture maybe two wired lavalier mics and record ambient audio through the mics as well.
I don’t know how well that would work.
The Tascam DR-05 only accepts one Lavalier through the external mic input. The sound is pretty good, but now the external mics won’t record.
I really need to caputure three people talking at anytime.
Then I was wondering if I need to buy a shotgun (camera mounted)
Keep in mind, this is sort of a live situation, where I won’t be able to re-capture any of the video or dialogue once my subjects are gone. So, it has to be done right once.
What’s the best way to capture clean, professional audio in this case?
