I’m wanting to improve the overall audio quality of my video productions. My typical project gets played back to a high school gymnasium full of senior citizens, via Playback Pro, feeding a fairly low quality PA system. Main audio is usually lav mic from an interview, with music mixed under. My levels are usually consistent, but I need some tips about audio filters or effects that I should be using to give the soundtrack that extra presence. I have Apple Soundtrack, in addition to the standard Final Cut audio filters. Suggestions??

    Thanks,
    James

can you give a better example? Generally speaking- the best advice for improving your final audio is improving your recordings. Can you get better mics, closer micing, better acoustic settings, etc.

What do your ears tell you?
It it muffled – increase HFCs or mid
    Is it thin- increase lf
    Is it fluctuating- compress it

Your ears ave to be the first point if start. What do they say
