  Is this audio fixable?

  Currently in post, and we got some bad audio on a shoot. I dont know much about audio post production but my instincts tell me i can’t be saved.

  Can you clarify exactly what it is your wanting saving.
  is it the low levels, the fact that the 2 people are different levels or the fact that the clatter around a lot throughout?
  How was it recorded etc etc . More info?

  Well, sorry, i’m not well versed in this. I guess i meant ‘generally better’. But if i had to choose a pressing issue it would be probably be to somehow eliminate the noise while getting the dialogue to a clear audio level.
  As for the recording situation: it was recorded on an NTG-3 + H4n on a boom.

  HI
  any clues as to what happened after the clapperboards?
  They are at a very sensible and healthy level, then the scene dialogue is way down. How di dthat happen. Why was htis turned down?

  We had a really wide set up, but we clapped close to the boom.

  Ill have a look at it when im back in the studio and see how much background is dragged up to lift it out of the floor, and then what cleaning up can be done with it as a result.
  Im not in studio tomorrow as Im out on location, but Tuesday will have a listen

  See if this works for you. I simply gained up the audio after “Action” so it’s as loud as it could be without clipping.

  I increased the gain significantly (as did TY) but then cleaned up the rather noticable background tone that had been dragged up with the gain a lot.
