  audio conundrum

  Hi

  have a weird issue

  using a beyer stick mic, xlr to usb into macbook pro for vo

  when i start up fce and record to timeline with vo tool its fine for first 2 takes or so but then
  after that when i play back new recordings its distorted and gravelly and hissy
  and useless

  if i quit fce then restart it goes back to normal and voice is ok for 2 – 3 takes until the issue repeats

  i have tried same on a sony clip mic same happens so it’s not the mic..

  batts are fresh, tried 2 different usb sockets ( 1 on laptop, 1 on the 24inch monitor attached)
  same occurs

  all I haven’t changed is the lead..

  but then how come it works the first couple of times like clockwork?

  i am mystified

  It sounds like one of the units in your chain is defective. Things like that can be tough to track down.
