There is no video tab in the AEcs4 that I have. And since there is no video tab there are no players.

Do I need to download the progressive player separately?

    Thanks.

Go to the top right and look for the drop-down menu that says “workspace”. Choose “standard”.

Now if you want to see the composition window, you need to make a composition.

If that doesn’t help, you’ll have to clarify your problem, since I (for one) don’t know if you’re using the correct terminology.

    I did what you said.

On the right panel where animation effects, audio and all those category tabs are there is no “video” tab. I’m pretty sure that there is supposed to be a video tab. Right?

    And thanks for your reply!

So exporting a video from AE which includes a player is not possible?

I apprceiate your help and I apologize that I’m causing you ambiguity……sometimes I have ambiguity towards myself, so I understand.

What I’m trying to do is export a flash/flv movie.

I guess it’s Adobe flash that exports a player but not AE.

Flash can export a lot of things: SWF, HTML, EXE in a package if you want. AE just exports the FLV when you choose to export/render FLV.

If the user has downloaded the latest Adobe Media Player, he/she should be able play the FLV. If not, he/she most likely cannot play the FLV.
Instead, you would want to export an SWF from AE to make something that can be played with little discomfort on the user’s part.

    Right, Flash gurus?
