  How to create these specific effects in AE?

  Hey!

  I recently saw a music video in which there were some pretty good visual effects. The video I’m talking about is this one:

  So here are my questions:

  1:
  How did they make that “heart in hand” effect starting from 0:40?
  AND, how did they make this red light go through his body, when his heart beats? (look at 0:56)

  2:
  How did they make that effect right at the beginning (0:00) ?
  Did they shoot him falling down, and then just time-reversed it?

  I would appreciate your help 🙂

  Hi Tarik.

  The shots your talking about are really easy to re create…

  Shot 1) Track the hand, apply your track pos to the centre point of a lens flare.. and curves colour effect to the layer, up the red values.. then mask the fingers.

  Shot 2) Just shot super slo mo, then the shot is reversed likje you said !!!

  thanks so far!

  So that heart in his hand is basically just a lens flare? Sorry if I didnt get that right..

  And can you tell me how to do that effect, when he “puts” the heart into his body.. there is this red kind of light flowing through his body every heartbeat.. how can i recreate that?

  I’d say that he has a red flashing LED in his hand to light his face and provide a tracking point for the lens flare.

  As for the rings on the suit, they seem to be projected from a source to the right, out of frame — not done in post, but a practical, on-set effect.
