    Hello,

I need to purchase a Wireless Lavalier System for work. I am using a Sony HVR-V1U camera with XLR Inputs.. I am looking for something good quality but under $500. I am also interested in a shotgun mic as well. Any suggestions?

    Thank You!

Hello Faraz and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

Not a lot of choices for you in the <$500 wireless mic department. Sennheiser G3 https://tinyurl.com/yd23ojt

    and Audio-Technica https://tinyurl.com/y8happ5

Are you sure you want a shotgun mic and not a hyper or supercardioid? If you don’t know, watch this: https://gallery.me.com/tyreeford#100038

    Which mixer are you using?

    Regards,

    Ty,

Thanks for getting back to me. I did watch your video and I think the cardioid would be a better option. I just need a mic to use for interviews which would be the lavalier and also a mic to pic up general sound in a room. For instance, if I was filming a company meeting or something. As far as a mixer, I am not using one. I was planning on just plugging into the camera. We don’t have a big budget and we are not a production company so we do not need anything “TOO” professional, if that makes sense. If I can get away with just plugging into the camera that would be great. But if you believe a mixer is necessary please let me know.

Also, what cardiod do you recommend for me?

    Thanks!

Did I actually say cardioid rather than super cardioid or hyper cardioid?

As long as you don’t want to be too professional, use whatever you want. 🙂
