Activity Forums Audio Using iPhone to record audio

  • Using iPhone to record audio

I’m producing a podcast with reporters who would like to file stories using their iPhones to record aiff files. The stock iPhone mics are too crappy for pro recording. Are there any devices or adapters that allow us to use better mics to record audio with the iPhones?

    thanks

My only real concern would be about a microphone not outputting a strong enough signal for the iPhone input to use.

There was a similar thread on another of my favorite forums.

    iPod Touch Recording/Playback Cable

If you are or know someone who is handy with a soldering iron, the wiring for the iPod Touch (similar to the iPhone, hopefully) can be found.

Good luck and please report that results.
