How do you handle YOUR audio 720p23.976 to 720p25?
Subject pretty much says it all.
Video is not a problem, audio is weird.
Soundtrack Pro seems to do a decent job. I resample to 48k then pitch down, then make a new Quicktime. Seems to be alright but I know DAWs can perform it better and there has to be a better way.
I tried it and I lose sync with a new file from the DAW. I know it must have to do with sample rates.
Is it best to take the final 24p audio and slow it down 4% then pitch down? Or is it best to take the conformed audio @ 25p/ 50,050k and pitch that down and resample? Perhaps it’s best NOT to resample and let FCP handle that?
What do you do? It’s my first experience without external conversion.

Well, yes. I am doing PAL. Video’s shot 720p23.98 (NTSC HD of sorts). I conformed the video to 720p25 in Apple’s Cinema Tools software which speeds it up 4% and resamples to 50.050kHz. The video looks awesome, audio is a bit funky. It sounds good, but the voices are just south of the beginnings of Alvin and the Chipmunks. I need to make a 720p25 video with the audio pitched back down to a level that the folks will identify with. Does that make sense, or should I provide more technical info?

This is camera audio, not audio recorded on an external recorder?
Sound like you need to downsample the audio to restore pitch.
Unless someone pops up here with a better answer, I suggest you ask the question at the RAMPS newsgroup.
