I am looking to start shooting in clubs/bars…..local bands type of stuff. The problem is monitoring my audio with those big speaker systems. Any suggestions?

I was thinking of using noise cancelling headphones like those from Bose (maybe having ‘bud’ type headphones on under them if necessary), but I don’t know if they would work.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

Problem is they add in a lot of extra frequencies so you’re not really hearing what you’re recording.

    Try

They take sony 7506 headphones and put them into headsets that are used in small aircraft. Very isolated and the best option I have run into under $500.00

    remoteaudio works great.

Another approach is to buy an in-ear monitor such as Etymotic ER-4, which provides about 20db isolation out of the box. Then, if you need even more, put on headphone-style hearing protection from an industrial safety supplier or from a gun shop. Kinda’ geeky but it really works.
