  Sound Studio

  I’m putting together a voice over studio. I only need to record one person at a time. Some of the vocals I will be mixing with music or background noise. I have a Dell PC, tape deck, mini disc and CD player. I have been told Mackie is a good brand for mixers. Through my research it looks like the shure SM57 is a good mic. I’m still looking for a good easy to use editing software. I would appreciate any input you can provide. Thanks

  This is beyond the scope of a few words on a bulletin board.

  Your best bet is to hire a local audio pro to help you with everything.

  Meanwhile, spend some time sorting through the Archive of posts on this forum.

  Hundreds of answers and discussions on subjects like the ones you mentioned.

  I agree with Matt
  If your asking this question and your looking at a Shure SM57 for a VO mic then you really need to do some research on the art of noise.

  some quick answer’s for a mic and software are.
  Neumann mics take a look (pricey)
  Shure mics look at some others like the KSM series. (better price for low budget)
  and there’s a bunch more of other mics that are great out there.

  Software
  Take a look at Protools LE for yourself with the Digi002 is what I like for low budget. Mackie don’t go down that road (I personally don’t like any of there stuff!)
