  M/S stereo with Senn’ MKH816?

  Has anyone had any experience recording M/S stereo using an MKH816 as the mid mic’ (perhaps paired with an MKH30)?

  Sorry if I am a little OT, may you help me (or indicate the right forum link”) to understand the reason to use the -6dB factor in the calculus of L/R => M/S transform ? The same question for the use for half level of a signal on a mixer level fader of -6db as well? In fact I know that for the SPL we use – 6 db for the 50% attenuation, but this concern the POWER level (ratio), not the Voltage one !
  Any idea ? Thanks for your time
