  • Is there a limit to text on a layer?

I’m trying to do an effect similar to Eran Stern’s “Digits Man” effect. When I type text in a layer everything is fine until the layer is about half full, then if I type just one more letter, all of the text vanishes. If I hit delete it comes back. Is there a setting I’m not aware of?

I’m having the same problem…. did you ever find out whats the deal? I have to make a demo for a job and want to use something similar to this for the demo. Please help! I don’t understand why it doesn’t work…..

Only just came across this issue myself, so sorry for being late to the party. May help future readers:

The restriction seems to relate to word length: I wanted to create a binary string to over-fill a 1080 comp. and had the same disappearing text issue. Placing a [space] at the end of each line of text, followed by [shift+return] for a soft-carriage return enables you to fill a paragraph block of a size of your choice. The space at the end of each line shouldn’t affect the look of the layer or comp.

    Cheers,

    Paul
