    Hi guys.
I trust you all are staying fit and well during this pandemic.

I have a question.. it sounds really stupid, but for the life of me its annoying.

Simply put… If I ingest a clip out of a camera, how can I render that clip in the exact same format?

Ive moved from DVCAM to P2HD, as my clients now want everything in HD.

When I used to ingest a clip off tape, and then render the project as an AVI file, the process was lightning fast, and the screen in Vegas would say “no recompression required”

    Which was simply wonderful..

its easy enough to set the the project to match the first placed video clip… but what about getting it to do the same for the end product?

for example, I can take a clip, shot in AVC Intra 100, and *ONLY* cut it.. but when I render it using Vegas’ AVC Intra 100 preset, it takes time. A lot of time.

Another quick test. A ten second clip from a HD handycam with the matching preset takes 1 min 20 to render.
Compared with an AVI file of ten seconds, that takes ten seconds to render.

    Any ideas?
    B
