  Video Preview not keeping time with plugin and effect windows’ timelines

  I am having an issue where whenever I open a plugin or effect window to track text to my videos, moving the timeline in the effect window does not move the timeline that controls my video preview. This is troublesome because it means that i have to guess every time I set a key frame and slows down my progress significantly. Is there a setting I can change so that I can view my text being overlaid on my preview as I position it rather than having to blindly guess where it’ll end up?
