Mask entire layer, rather than video event? Changing pivot of Pan/Crop zoom?
Posted by Desmond Logan on February 5, 2020 at 8:40 amissue 1: Have a mask respect the layer or frame, rather than the video event i.e. a zig-zag mask that tears 2 layers won’t hold the zig-zag once I zoom/pan on the stripe-test-pattern layer.

issue 2: Is it possible to change the pivot point of the Pan/Crop frame?

I am unsure about what you are trying to achieve in question #1.
Regarding question #2, you can change the pivot point. Left click the centre point and hold it. Drag it to where you want it to be. Release left click.
Cheers !

February 7, 2020 at 12:07 amFor issue 1, it’d be like clipping masks in Photoshop .
So imagine the 3 zig-zag spikes in the mask remain stationary as I zoom into the stripe pattern. Currently, if I zoom into the stripe pattern, the zig-zag pattern will zoom in as well. For issue 2, from what I’ve tested, the white circle only controls the rotation center. Is there something I’m missing?

I realize that it’s sometimes not easy to convey to others in words what you have visualize in your mind. Best is to point to a finished example of what you envision as a final result. Having said that, here is my take on what I think you are looking for for #1.
Normally, what you do on one track should not effect what is on the second track. In this example, the top image was zoomed and rotated without affecting the botton one.
As for #2, Are you looking for something like this ?
If that is not what you are looking for, again, try to find an example somewhere of what you need (Youtube, Vimeo, etc… link)
Cheers !
