I just rendered a half hour video (Internet HD 1080p 59.94fps) using the Magix AVC/AAC MP4 format and it was over 5 gigs.
I never remember rendering with Vegas 14 ever having such a large file.
So…. what is the most practical rendering format I should use for YouTube?
    Thanks
    Roger

    Hi Steve

Tried Voukoder as per your suggestion to Roger B.. I tested it on my other computer that has V12. I do this so not to take any risks with my ”bread and butter” computer that has V16.

Did some testing and a soon as I try to open the Render As window, everything crashes.

I couldn’t find much of a tutorial (unless one understands Russian) or any other info.

Do you know if there is a resource site short of the forum ?

    Cheers !

I have been successful with H.264 & H.265 via using Handbrake.
Remarkably small files produced with no noticeable loss of detail.
Upload to Youtube naturally much faster.
    To use Handbrake via Vegas:

Voukoder is miles ahead of Handbrake in terms of output quality, file size, ease of use and integration!

Francois, yes you probably would have issues using it in Vegas 12, as it is made for earlier versions, but especially for Magix Vegas Pro 17… So try it in your Vegas Pro 16, you have nothing to worry about installing and testing it.

    Hi Steve,
I installed Voukoder but I get this message when I open vegas. So I don’t know what I’m suppose to do next. The file I downloaded and installed was called “vegas-connector-0.5.1.msi. I didn’t see any other files available to download on the Voukoder site so I’m baffled.

Also when I do get it working, where does do these render choices appear? I’m assuming they are included within the normal Vegas rendering choices. Is that correct?
    Thanks Steve,
    Roger

You got that warning because you need to install two components, the connector and the core component:
    https://github.com/Vouk/voukoder/releases/download/3/voukoder-3.msi
    https://github.com/Vouk/voukoder-connectors/raw/master/vegas/vegas-connector-0.5.1.msi

When you do this, it will appear in the list of your rendering output, where you can configure to your hearts content and all is good and stable!

It cut my file size by less than half.
Thanks again for letting us know about it.
