January 20, 2020 at 11:54 amYes Roger, and it’s output is a far better quality than that of Vegas….

January 20, 2020 at 7:18 pmHi Steve, thanks very much for this.
I have been struggling with renders from a new camera I bought.
I just rendered a 1 minute test clip using Voukoder and was please to find it only took 1min 45sec as opposed to 2.5 min and the quality looks very good.
That said, I only see “use project settings”…is that all of the templates I should see?
Thanks again,

January 20, 2020 at 8:04 pmHi Roger
If I may, after you’ve selected Voukoder , Highlight Use Project Settings then Customize Template will be made available. Select Open Voukoder dialog… and choose your settings.
Steve was right. I’ve cut my render time by a factor of 3.
Thanks again Steve R.
Cheers !

January 20, 2020 at 10:01 pmThank you Francois…I will most likely always use the MP4 container but I’m not sure about the codec.
It defaulted to x264 but wondering if I should try something else.
I ask because I’m seeing around 2 X real time as far as renders when testing anything more than 5 minute.
I used to render 1080p at about 3/4 real time before I got this new camera.
To try to narrow the problem down I just shot/rendered some footage with the old camera and it takes about 2X real time now too.
Also, after rendering the 1min test I went back to the timeline and hit play and keep getting an error stating “an error occurred while starting playback. The request is not enabled for this device” so I’m not sure what’s going on..should I start a separate thread on that issue or does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks again,

January 20, 2020 at 11:49 pmHi Randy (sorry about calling you Robert previously)
One can not expect to get the same results as someone else. There are to many variables such as differences in hardware, files types, plug-in usage, etc… Best is to start testing by always using the same source file, tring all of the different options and then making your choice according to preferred results. As with any other software, there is a learning curve and taming of the beast.
Cheers !

January 21, 2020 at 12:20 amThanks, I will use the same source file moving forward…I certainly don’t need yet another variable : )
I definitely want to eventually find out why my old camera renders twice as slow as it did a week ago though!
Thanks again,
