Can I create a video file in Vegas10 that is 3840 x 2160 4K?
I don’t have a 4K video camera but I do have a lots of old photos that are of this resolution or higher as well as a 4K TV & a media player that supports this.
Is it possible to render out a video file in Vegas 10 that has 4k resolution, preferably in PAL 3840 x 2160 pixels? If so how is this done as this isn’t listed in the drop down list?

Hi Paul
I don’t have V 10 anymore but I do remember it can support frame sizes up to 4096×4096.
You should be able to set it in the Video tab in Project Properties

I can set the project settings easily enough to desired resolution from the drop down list. The only setting doesn’t offer PAL as an option.
Then when it comes to rendering out a clip the original codec isn’t listed. I can manually change the render settings to desired resolution but the program doesn’t save it. I tried rendering a 5 sec clip but all I got was a AVI file which of coarse is huge. Any other ideas?

Have you tried File – Project Properties
Input the desired frame size and frame rate (it can also be 25.000 PAL)
Don’t forget to Apply before OK
I know that I still have a laptop somewhere with V10. As soon as I find it, I should be able to confirm this.
