Request Script “paste repeat on markers”
Posted by Albert Van bommel on April 8, 2018 at 8:01 pmHi guys
I was wondering, is there anybody who can write me a script for Vegas 15 pro? The script needs to paste (a copied event) to all the placed markers in the timeline. I am messing around with some music video editing and want to create the flicker effect by placing a solid color over the original videotrack and place markers on every beat. After that it would be a lot easyer to create the first solid color, copy it and paste repeat it on all the placed markers. Sounds simple, but I have absolutely no experience with creating scripts.Maybe it already exists, but I have not found it so far….
thank you very much for your reply.

A Billion years ago I used a great little script that would do exactly that, and now there are several 3rd Party and freebie solutions. Punch this into GOOGLE: “vegas pro stills to markers script”
PS: Well, maybe NOT a Billion years ago, I’ve been working VP for only 16 years ????

I tried to purchase the Still motion software at VASST, but I am redirected to Sony, but it seems they don’t sell it anymore. Maybe a thing with the transition from Sony to Magix…
I am at work right now, so I have to figure out tonight where I can purchase it. But at first glance, it looks like this is indeed the tool I need to save me a lot of time!AMD RYZEN 1800X+Corsair HD150i pro watercooling – Crosshair VI hero MB – 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz – 250GB – Samsung Evo 960 M.2 – Geforce GTX1080 – 2TB HDD 7200rpm – Be Quiet! Albert,
Send an email to the VASST support team (i.e., the “support” email at vasst) and we’ll get you a temporary license key while we work on a new eCommerce solution.

August 29, 2020 at 7:27 pmHi!
I’m looking for the same.. repeat paste at markers. What’d you find?
Related, I believe both Vegasaur and Excaliber have a “strobe” effect like you were seeking! (Sadly I don’t see a repeat paste function in either)

August 29, 2020 at 7:52 pmThe problem is that the Vegas Script API has no knowledge of what has been copied to the Windows clipboard and therefore doesn’t allow you to paste from the clipboard to the Vegas Pro timeline. This makes something like pasting at markers difficult to implement… however…
The VASST Still Motion plug-in will place media at markers. So if you wanted to drop a colored image at every marker it could do that. It just doesn’t read from the Windows clipboard.

So we need to ask MAGIX for an enhancement to support this, either via a method to access the clipboard, or by enhancing the Paste Repeat with something like this:
