Black portions in corners still visible after zooming in after rotation
Another weird thing is happening with my project in Sony Movie Studio. There’s a shot where some vertical lines aren’t quite vertical so I rotated the image in Event / Pan Crop to get those lines straight. As expected, some areas of black appeared in all four corners of the frame after rotation. However when I zoomed in, the black areas on the left top and bottom corners disappeared but the black sections in the right top and bottom corners remained. I zoomed in further and they were still there. I even zoomed in a huge amount and I could not get rid of those areas of black on the right. Very strange. Any idea what’s going on?

X Center – 880.6
Y Center – 586.3 -

Sounds like the aspect ratio of the clip is different from the project. I would remove all Pan/Crop changes. Then right-click on the Frame in Pan/Crop and select Match Output Aspect. Then try and make the rotate and zoom changes again. That might clear it up.

Thankyou for your reply. The clip is the same aspect ratio as the project – both are 16:9. Previously, I had rotated another ‘event’ within the same project (shot with the same camera) and there were no issues then.

Did you try Match Output Aspect?
Can you share a screen shot of your Pan/Crop window so that we can see what’s going on?
