Making an event exempt from effect applied to whole track?
Hello guys,
As in the title.
I have applied a color correction effect to the whole video track with mutiple events on it.
I would like to make a few events exempt from the effect applied to all the events on the track.
How can this be done?

I don’t think you can .. track level means the whole track .. I can’t think of a way to do it …
But it would be easy to move the events you want exempted to another track.

Haha, exactly Paul, so simple. It occured to me I can do that about 15 seconds after posting but thank you for the reply.
This leads me to a (I think) more complex question. Say I have 1 video event that lasts 10 seconds. I split the event into two 5 second events. I apply color correction to the first event altering the colors and the second event stays with the original colors.
In what way could I make a transition from one to the other so that the color corrected event transitions into the event with the original colors smoothly?
If I just play the two events normally, one after another with no time gap in between the color transition will be very sharp.
I hope I explained that clearly.

Let’s say that you want to go from colour to B&W.
1- Same event, 2 different tracks.
2- First track with no effect.
3- Second track with effect.
4- Move the beginning of the second track to where you want the effect to start and apply fade up and fade down as per example.
5- Voila !

If I understand you correctly, what would help give you a smooth transition between the corrected event and the original color would be an overlap or dissolve. How long the overlap should be might take some experimentation.

I’ve always thought that doing the overlap on the same track is smoother than doing a fade up and fade down on two separate tracks. I think the ability to do an overlap on the same track is one of the nicest features Vegas has always had.

Don’t split events. Just copy your original event to the track above the color-corrected event and use Track Composite envelope to create smooth transition.
