    I have a Windows 8.1 Pro with an Intel Core i7 processor Q740 @ 1.73GHz x64 with 8GB RAM, system drive is Samsung EVO 850 1TB SSD and data drive is WD 1TB SATA. I’ve configured the Vegas app to use the SSD for all temporary and rendering so that the mechanical drive is not used in the hope that I can speed up the rendering process.
    So I’m rendering a video in m2ts format and the resources being used are:

    * CPU = 60%
    * System drive = 0%
    * SSD = 3%
    * Memory = 5GB

    So why isn’t the rendering going faster by using the remaining resources?

    There are a lot of factors that can affect rendering performance but you didn’t mention your GPU.

    I’m guessing that only 60% if your CPU is being used because the GPU is doing a lot of the work. Your hard drives will never be the bottleneck when rendering They hardly get used because rendering by it’s very nature is a CPU/GPU intensive process.
