  Exporting 1920x1080p video to square format with lesser letterbox effect

  Hi,

  I’m a YouTuber and normally I render my videos for YouTube 1920x1080p, basic stuff right. But as I have other social media (Facebook, Instagram) and I’d like to upload my videos there in square format. I’ve done this already a few times with 1920×1920 project settings and rendering, which gives decent results. However, the letterbox effect (the bars above and below the actual video) are quite large and I’ve seen other Facebook pages sharing square videos with a bit more narrow bars. So basically when I’m rendering for square video, I have my 1920x1080p video, which I rendered for YouTube, brought in the 1920×1920 project. Any tips for this problem?

  Well, 16:9 video will have massive black borders, when converted into 4:3.

  So the solution here is either:

  Cut out some portion of both sides of your video (so this way you will reduce size of black borders or completely remove them for the cost of a big portion of your video cutted out).

  or

  You can fit the video size into 4:3 format, so you will deform it.
