DVD Architect WAAYYYY slow…
I created three DVD’s last night and they took forever to burn.
They were all no more than 3GB in size (I did have some files in an extra folder as well on 2 of them). All of them took almost 1.5-2hrs from start to finish and NO recompression was needed (other than audio as usual for me).
Most times it takes 15-20 mins to make a DVD that is full over 2 hrs in length and nearly full.Anyone else have this issue and anyone have any fixes?

I use DVDA for Menu and Presentation design and Preparation. I do NOT use DVDA for rendering my source footage. I use VP13 for preparing footage. My only exception if I get a warning that maybe some audio needs to be rendered-up.
Could you be more specific about your DVDA workflow and where your media assets are stored and how they are connected to the PC.

I still use DVDA, but only for preparing.
I burn the discs with Nero.(it is possible to use more burners at the same time)
When I had many menupages with animated stuff, it took a while for DVDA to prepare…Best regards

Scott, like everyone else here, I use DVDA just to author but not burn. I found that DVA would make coaster after coaster if I used it to burn. I use either Nero or ImgBurn to burn my discs.
My system specs: Intel i7 970, GTX570, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 12 (x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

OK, to clarify. I use DVDA to Burn. No 3rd Party DVD Burning software.
1] I use Vegas Pro to prepare/encode the Video and Audio media for DVDA.
2] I use DVDA for the Menu and Structure of my DVDs.
3] I then use DVDA to Prepare my DVD.
4] I then use DVDA to BURN my DVD.
I get “honest” Burn times equal to the rates specified for the Platter. I’ve had no burn times that have made me anxious. It could be that I am very careful to have all my assets in places that DVDA does not need to keep referring back to. This has to be down to having the final Prepare folder on a separate drive. I’ve not used a 3rd party DVD burner software for years.
DVDA Burn works well for me. If I do find Burn times increasing, this will be the place I will mention them.

Scott, can you clarify where the slowness occurs. Is it during preparation or the actual burning process.
If the latter are you using the same brand of discs that you normally use and are you able to try a different burner. If for some reason your burner is having problems with your blank discs it may drop the burning speed to 1X in which case a 3gb disc will take 45 mins to burn. That’s the only suggestion I have.

The process is slow in the preparation time, not burning. I use Taiyo Yuden DVD”s and have for over 10 years, love them.
For those of you who use DVDA to author only, do you create an ISO image or something else and then open that in Nero?

Hi,
I feed Nero eith the video_ts folder that DVDA creates.When you prepare a disc, does Dvda something render for you?

I let DVDA render my audio portion never the video portion. I make sure that is compatible when I render from Vegas. It has been quick in the past, just not this last group of DVD’s I did….

And don’t you have menu pages with animated stuff?
