    I am working with a digital nightvision footage of various night active animals and can’t think of an easy way of eye shine removal from the footage.
    Basically a digital nightvision is using IR illumination to light up the scene, but it is also causing very strong eye shine. It just does not look good and would like to get rid of that so the footage looks more natural.
    Any ideal appreciated.

    My thought is to use Color Curves and drop the bright part only down quite a bit. I’m sure the eyes are way overexposed and doing this should help a lot.

    I played with Color Curves and could not get satisfactory results… 🙁

    It basically is like poorly exposed footage, something like filming reflective objects in a spotlight… I thought there is a method to work with things like that or at least someone tried it before.

    Not exactly high quality as it is coming from a low res sensor and quite a lot of noise…
