    Hi everyone,

I am new to this and am trying to edit my video, deleting some parts and joining them together. I have no problem deleting, but I need to add “fade in” transitions to each split. The edited parts are very small pieces and it is impossible to add the fading transition because there is no room. When I pull the end of it to expand, the deleted parts will show up again! I saved it but again it does the same thing.

    Please help!! THANK YOU!!

What you are trying to do is mathematically impossible. If you don’t have enough frames for the fade then you cannot have a fade.

    Three possible workarounds:

    1. Make the fade very short. A duration of 2 or 3 frames. (the default is 15)
    2. Fade up on a freeze frame. Take a snapshot of the first frame, drop it into the timeline, and fade up on that.
    3. Slow down your video so that it has more frames.

Those are the only three workarounds that I can think of. If you don’t have enough frames you either need to make more frames, fade quicker, or to fade at all.

Out of curiosity, how long are the “edited parts are very small pieces”? Could you list several that you have as an example? Either time or frame length?

    Best Regards…..George
