Can Vegas seperate audio tracks & video tracks by default?

I was using final cut on my Mac & liked the way that it splits audio from video & groups them together, this makes it very easy to sync up multiple videos to the same audio master track (making a music video)

As it is it gets quite confusing & would rather have all video tracks next to each other & the audio also grouped together on their own tracks.

Can Vegas do this? It would make my editing process so much easier if so.

Pretty certain you will have no problem if I correctly understand your question. By default, any clips imported onto the timeline in SVP appear as a video track on top with its accompanying audio track below. These two tracks can be left linked or they can be ‘ungrouped’ and treated separately. If they get out of sync for some reason, then syncing them again is easily achieved visually as well by the way.

If you import more than one clip, onto separate timelines so they play at the same time, then your timeline, by default, will show alternating video and audio tracks, top to bottom. These can all be manually arranged by simply dragging and dropping tracks in the order that you want them, so, placing all audio tracks towards the bottom of the timeline for instance, is simple.

You can also import only the video component of a clip onto the timeline if so desired.

    Hope this answers your question.

Ah, so its as easy as ungroupijg Audio , moving it then regrouping?
Obviously I still need to move in sync with the video

Just click on the video track header and drag it to wherever you want the track to be. You can reorder the tracks however you want.
