brightness and contrast issues
I am using sony vegas pro12. I have edited brightness and contrast before with no problems. For some reason I can’t make any adjustments now or it just does half screen adjustments. Any suggestions?

My guess is that you accidentally clicked the Split Screen View button (just above the Preview window).
BTW, brightness and contrast are never recommended as they affect the entire image. Use either the Color Curves or Levels FX (sometimes both) instead. -
that’s what I thought as well, however I’ve been unable to get it to change on any project.

You have me puzzled as the half screen comment is usually the result of the split screen view icon being enabled.
Hopefully someone else on here has another idea. -
if it is enabled, how dow I get it back as it should be? Maybe I missed something. I’m still fairly new at this sony stuff! I used ulead before.

Click the button again and it will be disabled.

will try again tomorrow. thanks for your help. I’m trying to recapture old mini DV that I lost many years ago some was dark. It is outdoor stuff and my kids.

In that case, you definitely want to learn how to use Color Curves as it will help a lot more than the Brightness and Contrast FX,
