Background Tips
I know i posted in the other sony vegas forum but I’m trying here too if it’s not too much trouble
Hey guys and gals
I’m of course a video editor in the making like the rest of you i’m sure. But I am having trouble with something. Ok I am making an intro just like the Pauly D project. If you haven’t seen it here’s the intro
Now I pretty much have everything else done except whenever i do the equalizer bars part. Well I have a black background so i tried the chromakey and it messed it up big time. Here are the pics.

Horrible right!? Is there a way to pretty much get rid of the black background without hurting the foreground footage? I won’t manually mask it cause that may actually make it worse.

Put up a full res screenshot of just the equalizer bars for us to play with.

You have a few problems that would have to be corrected before you could user any of the tools that come with Vegas.
That background is not completely black, your performer has dark hair and is wearing dark clothing.
Add all of these together and that’s why you can’t do a chroma key or anything else for that matter. -
yeah which sucks lol. I showed a buddy of mine the same pics and he said the black sorta fits in with the theme so i may keep it in. I’ll show you guys the finished project once i’m done and uploaded.

You could mask it using the bezier tool in Pan/Crop but it would mean a LOT of keyframing 🙁
