I am new to Sony Vegas altogether but I am figuring it out slowly but surely. I created a video and I have tried to render it about 5 times. The first time, it came out with picture but no audio, second time, audio and no video, third and fourth time, error, fifth time (MP4) it only plays in Zune (will not play in Windows Media Player, Winamp, or VLC) and will not upload to Youtube. I have tried many different formats, m2v, avi, m2ts, and finally mp4. The first one I tried to render came out as 33 GB! Also, let me say that this video is only 4 mins long and takes about 3-5 hours each time to render. I have read that this is not normal. I have looked at countless YouTube tutorials on what the best settings were to render a video, and none have worked. When I render the video I do this:

    Click Render As
    Choose MainConcept AVC/AAC (*mp4)
    Internet HD 720p

    Under Customize Template:
    Frame size: HD 720p (1280×720)
    Allow Source code: No
    Profile: Main
    Frame rate: 59.940000
Allow source to adjust frame rate: No
    Field Order: None (progressive scan)
    Pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000
Number of reference frames: 1 Deblocking Filter: Yes
Variable bit rate: max: 14,000,000 avg: 14,000,000
Encode mode: Render using CPU only
    Enable progresive download: Yes
Audio is at 128,000 bit rate

My computer is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+ 2.81 GHz
    RAM: 4 GB
    System type: 32-bit Operating System

Someone please help me as this is getting very frustrating.

Not an expert on this stuff, but I do know that some programs won’t playback files at 60fps. Also, make sure your display drivers are updated and that the CPU is not being overworked (i.e. 100% usage during playback).

Try rendering at 30fps and see if its more ‘readable’.
