Where can I get the specs for vegas 9 or any other version for that matter. Windows 7 movie maker will make one of 150 minutes but Vegas premium 9 would not. I had reduce it to 125 minutes for architect 4.5 to handle it. How about the number of chapters? Any limitations there? You would think Sony would make that info available somewhere if there is a limitation. Have a nice day. and new year.

    Hope to see you

Vegas is not limited on the length of a movie. If you’re going to DVD, the “length” will be limited by the “bitrate” used. Use a lower bitrate, and you can fit more video onto the DVD. Of course going over 2 hours is typically not recommended if you wish to keep the quality up.

The reason I asked was that I wanted to compare quality between Windows 7 movie maker and Vegas (well nigh impossible we need a test pattern) When I tried to make the same movie with Sony vegas it would not make it until I reduced it to 125 minutes from 150. I will look into bit rate which seems a solution. What about number of chapters?

    “What about number of chapters?”

Great. I miss the Indian head though.

Sony again. They have hidden the windows default in Vegas 9 premium. I will have to look elsewhere. I will try help again.

What do you mean by “Windows default”?
Is “Vegas 9 premium” a Movie Studio version or Vegas Pro 9?

in one of your answers you said to get to default layout go to view, windows layout to reset it to default. “Sony Movie Platinum pro pack Studio 9” is not the pro program. “Platinum pro pack” is in sort of small print. It is just the 9 version of vegas movie studio Platinum. But it hid where I have hidden project media or I have put something on top of it. It’s hard to start new projects when you cant see where to drop the project media. Programs in progress works ok. What I am looking for is probably hidden.

Do you have ‘Project Media’ checked in View menu?

Yes I do. I did some more looking and found that if I check Explorer project media window also comes up. That is different from the way it was. This display is all messed up. There is a command somewhere relating to docking. Trimmer and video preview are both floating and I cant remember where to go to put them back to default I think it probably is. Unfortunately in this Version 9 I cant find the windows default location as Mike suggested. That is probably the Solution.

    doyal,
    only just remembered this:
If you have Movie Studio 10, choose ‘view; ‘windows layout’, ‘default layout’ to restore back to default layout. If you have an older version, try resetting Vegas back to default window layout by closing the program, hold ctrl+shift and open Vegas using the icon.

See if this works for you.

wonderful, wonderful. Works like a charm. I looked all over help for that answer and didn’t find it. Strange Sony could not figure out we would need that.

    Thanks again!
