Rendering Problem
I am experiencing an issue when rendering a vegas file to the MP4 format. My video file is 4 and a half hours in length.
I get an error that says… “An error occurred while creating the media file BCST Balance and Falls.MP4… The reason for the error count not be determined.”
We can render the file to an AVI but it is a 650GB file.
I am currently using Vegas Pro 10.0.
I am open to any and all feedback.

What resolution is the video to be rendered at? 480? 720? 1080?
Computer? OS? 32 or 64 bit?
Obviously you have the hard drive space?
Are you on Vegas 10e
This 650gb .avi file is lossless? or compressed? Did it complete? -
Video to be rendered at 720… we want best possible resolution to file size ratio possible.

650gb avi file: not sure if it was compressed or not… how do you know… better yet what setting allows you to compress the file. Yes the rendering did complete.Thanks for the quick response

In the Help menu in Vegas select About Vegas Pro to see what version is installed.650gb avi file: not sure if it was compressed or not
Vegas tells you the compression format at the bottom of the Explorer window in Vegas when a video is selected.Which MP4 format are you trying to render to, I use the “Sony AVC/MVC” which has High Def. templates ready to use.

Sony AVC/MVC did the trick… it yielded a 4.5GB file.
