  Sony Vegas Pro 8.0a Crashes while rendering

  Hello, I’m new here, and I am having some issues with my copy of Sony Vegas.

  I edit video game montages with Vegas, and my most recent one is having a bit of an issue. It will either render about halfway through and then randomly turn off (without any error messages), or it will stop 1-2 minutes in and give me an error message saying that the following files are the cause of the problem.

  The raw clips that I am using are .wmv clips in 720p HD, and the video itself is about 3:15 with very little VFX, just crossfades, some slo-mo parts, and a single flash transition.

  Here are my laptop’s specs:
  Dell Inspiron 1545
  Windows 7 Home Edition
  Integrated Graphics chip
  3 GB of RAM
  Intel Dual-Core Processor running at 2.3 GHZ

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  CAn you play the WMV files separately?

  Is your drive full? Or the partition where you are rendering to?

  Are you able to render any other movies or short clips?

  I can play the .wmv files separately (in the media player).

  I have a single 250 GB drive, and I have 117 GB free on it.

  I was able to render a 50 sec movie of 3 clips. Maybe my project file is corrupted? I’ve never had this problem before.

  Vegas Pro 8.0a is very old. The first thing you should do is update to 8.0c which is the last version Sony released. There were a lot of bug fixes between A and C and one of them might fix your problem.

  I have been searching for an update to Vegas 8.0c, but I haven’t been able to find one 🙁

  What I’m going to try to do is remake the video in a new project instead of using the old project file, and then try rendering it then.

  Looks like you’ll have to try a complete uninstall and reinstall of everything.

  Just go to Help | Enter Your Serial Number… and enter your license key.
