rendering speed extreme low
Hi,
I am a beginner with vegas 10 and sofar downloading and editing are getting better and better.
However what is not working well is the render proces.
A smal video of 3 min takes 8 fold time 24 min.
But a 20 min video was running a whole 8 hrs night and showed an extra 9 hrs to go, so a factor 50 or more!!!???
I’m using a 64 bit OS sony vayo intel core i7 CPU Q720 1,6 Ghz with 6 GB RAM installed.
I put the memory for preview video already at zero Mb in order to prevent a total stop because of memory problems.
I also removed markers etc. that were still on the time line causing this line to be extra long and saved and reopened the project to get a shorter timeline.I’m searching for the key strokes that reduces the content in the media bin to only the used files and file parts.
Can anybody help me with this and what else can i do to increase the render speed ?Gerard.

That is not a very powerful computer. I realize it’s a quad core but it’s a very slow quad core. Sony recommends a minimum of 2.8Ghz for HD. If your working with AVCHD or any AVC/H.264 media it will take a very fast processor to render.

Buy a faster computer. Don’t expect any laptop to be fast. You really need a workstation with a Core i7 2.8Ghz or faster for fast rendering and even then it will take several times your project length depending on your source media type and target render type and how many FX you have applied.
