Activity Forums Adobe After Effects multiple masks?

    i have an image on which i have created a mask to hide a section of it. i want to create a second mask on that same image that hides another section. when i try this the second mask doesnt work. the first mask hides the appropriate spot but with the second mask, nothing happens. any ideas anyone? oh i am on after effects 7…

    Select the layer and hit hit MM (M twice quickly) on your keyboard and that will open the mask properties. Next to each mask there is a drop-down list that says “Add” by default, on the second mask try changing that to something else (either subtract, intersect, or difference) depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
