Problem merging two video files together.
Hello, I’m very new at this. I’m really only planning on using Vegas for simple video editing, like merging many small clips into one file.
I’ve been able to do this, but I think I’m doing something wrong. The size of the new video is completely outrageous. For example, I have two 50 megabyte files. Joining them together, naturally, makes me thing I’ll get one 100 megabyte file. But it’s over two gigs in size!
I’m guessing there’s just a box I need to check or uncheck in a menu somewhere, but I’m totally lost, and would love some help on the matter.
And one other thing, not exactly Vegas related. When using the “Rating” description to give certain video files ratings, I am unable to do it for certain files. It seems to relate to the type of file. It appears that I can Rate .wmv files, but .mpg and .avi files don’t let me. I think it must be something to do with Windows. Is there some way to rectify this or are these files simply unable to be Rated?

It sounds llike your rendering to an uncompressed format. What format are the videos you’re using? Try rendering to the same format and you’ll get the results you were expecting.
