Need some guidance for basic video editing
I have Sony Vegas Platinum 10 and I am a complete newbie at it. I am trying to edit a simple video for a cover of a song I did. I browsed the Vegas help and still don’t know what to do.
The basic concept is that I have a vocaltrack and a guitar solo track. I just need to combine them into one video while having the audio play for both simultaneously.
See the video below for an example on youtube. I need to do a very basic version of this:

My problem is that when I have both videos in the timeline the audio plays for the main vocal track but cuts completely to the guitar solo track while I can still only see the vocal video playing. I’d like to be able to have both audio tracks for the videos playing and do some cut scenes between videos as shown in the example above.
What functions in Vegas would I have to utilize to do this? Why aren’t the audio to both videos playing simultaneously? If someone could provide guidance or perhaps refer me to a more comprehensive video editing community/tutorials I would be greatly appreciative.
