trying to install my Excalibur on a new machine
I’ve built a new NLE and have moved my Vegas license to it. This is a 64 bit version of Vista with Vegas 8.1. I can’t seem to get Excalibur to install. 6-0-0 gives me a message that Vegas is not installed, even thought it clearly is. 6-0-5 seems to install just fine, but if I try to run the script I get an instant error which says:
“An error occurred during execution of the script. Error 0x80131600 (Message missing)”
and the details say
“System.ApplicationException: Failed to create instance of main class: ‘EntryPoint’.
at Sony.Vegas.ScriptHost.ScriptManager.Run(Assembly asm, String className, String methodName)
at Sony.Vegas.ScriptHost.RunScript(Boolean fCompileOnly)”Can someone help?

Claude, you can get better support of my product if you go directly to my site. I check there more frequently than here as well.
As for your error, it sounds like you’re trying to run it under Tools – Scripting instead of View – Extensions – Excalibur.

Thanks, Ed. I had no idea you had a help forum on your site. I’ve been so satisfied with the product, and have needed no help to make it function. I’ll try your suggestion when I get back to the machine. You describe exactly what I was attempting to do.
