  Timeline Scroll — keeping it centered as it plays…

  Hey all,

  I know you can continually hold down the Slash/Line button on the keyboard to achieve what the Avid does naturally, but is there an Option/Preference setting where I can force the timeline to stay centered around my cursor marker.

  What I want to happen visually is: I press play, and the TIMELINE moves right-to-left…the cursor/line/marker isn’t moving.

  Reason: I’m usually editing on a precision point in the timeline and like to ZOOM in and I’d prefer not to have to manually chase that point down once it disappears offscreen by having to set markers and zooming back out etc…

  change your prefs for the Spacebar.

  That doesn’t solve my particular problem.

  When i press the spacebar, i want it to stop at that point on the timeline, not back to the cursor marker.

  BUT, I want the auto-scrolling effect of the timeline scrolling and NOT the cursor scrolling. Somehow, i don’t think you can have both in Vegas.

  I don’d think Vegas does that. It will however stop at the time you hit the space bar and continue from that point upon hitting it again. That option is in the prefs. Danny Hays

  I thought I would revive this topic as we’re now into Vegas11.

  Please, if someone knows if Sony has initiated this Avid style feature, I would greatly appreciate a response.
