burned dvd won’t play in windows media player
I’m new to Vegas 7 and DVDA.
I created a project in Vegas, editted it, rendered it as both the mpg and the ac3 (per the recommendation of a post here). Then I went to DVDA and made a DVD of the project.
It plays great on my DVD player. But, when I put that DVD into my pc and try to bring it up in Windows media player, after a little while of “loading”, it starts to play. But the screen is black and silent. Oddly enough, WMP “knows” it’s 62 minutes long.
I thought maybe I didn’t finalize the DVD. I looked through DVDA help and the manual, couldn’t find anywhere where that’s addressed. So I tried to simply write another file to the DVD through NERO, thinking that, if it isn’t finalized, the other file would write. NERO told me the disc is unwritable. So I assume it’s finalized.
I’d like to know what to do to make it so it works on both the DVD player and WMP. The idea is, if I give copies of home movies to my parents, they can play it on their PC.
What could I have done wrong here? Any help is appreciated.
