you can capture a jpeg from your preview window. make sure it’s set to full best and click the little floppy icon. Then import the jpeg to the time line and drag the edge to the desired length. Use the standard text with alpha channel in a track over the jpeg track. The text with the gray and white checkerboard background will be transparent. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

Thank you very much, I figured it all out except for one part, when the text comes in, I want it to write each letter in at a time, is this possible? I did it with a transition effect but it doesnt look right.

Just for example, if you have ever seen The good, the bad, and the ugly, I want it too look like when the text pops in.

Instead of that, just add a velocity envelope to the event and then drop the velocity to 0% (i.e. freeze frame) at the point you want the frame to freeze. You can also gradually slow the video down using this method instead of a sudden “stop”.

For the text, you’ll need a bunch of keyframes (one for each letter)

I have no idea how to do that keyframe for each letter.
I just make those diamond shaped things but nothing comes of them.

open a text event above your video. Have the curser at the laft side (beginning) of the event. Place your first letter. Click 15 frames to the right in the keyframe time line . Click in the text window. Add second letter. Click again another 15 frames to the right in keyframe timeline. Click again in the text window. type third letter. This will result in your letters appearing every 1/2 second. Each time you type the letter in the text box it will add a keyframe in the time line.
