    Hi,
(I did a search but that’s not to say my answer hasn’t already been posted!) I’ve set up my workspace & time line view with the specific video and audio tracks I’ll be needing for future projects. I’d like to save this template but when I (as DSP’s book suggests) “Press and hold Ctrl+Alt+d and then press a number…” nothing happens. I tried closing down the program and then opening it again, then trying to recall the template by “… pressing Alt+D+[number assigned…]” but again, nothing happens. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I can save this template?
    Many thanks in advance,
    ST

If you want specific TRACKS in your template, you’ll need to just save a base project and then each time open that base project and do a “File – Save As” first thing so you don’t overwrite your template.

If you want to save a screen layout (so you could have multiple layouts), then you would do what you’re doing. To see what you’ve done work, change the size of some windows and then do an ALT-D Number and your layout will be restored.

If you’re using the Pro version, a script could also be helpful in this situation. For example, start Vegas, run the script, and it could create a specific number of tracks and even add effects/media to those tracks as desired.

Many thanks again. Trying to make the adjustment from LE6 to Vegas. Very impressed with Vegas! I’ve yet another question which I can’t seem to find the answer to in the books so will post it next.
