  Default audio FX?

  When I add an AVI track to Vegas it separates the audio and video of course in the timeline and sets some default effects on the audio. They include:

  – Track Noise Gate
  – Track EQ (with 4 tabs of settings
  – Track Compressor

  Is there a reason these default effects are set and should I remove them?

  There is NO need to remove them. They are set to “do nothing” by default. If you wish to remove them as a default you can but I see no reason to do so. Two of the three I use fairly frequently.
